This Privacy Policy applies to The North Consultancy’s website, consultation enquiries, forms, email, telephone, SMS/MMS and delivery of education, career and business consultancy services. By using these channels, you acknowledge the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Depending on your interaction with us, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, location, preferred contact method, consultation details and information you voluntarily provide about education, career, employment or business goals. For clients, we may also collect service records, correspondence, appointment information, payment and transaction records, and documents reasonably required for an agreed service.
Our website and service providers may collect device, browser, IP address, page-visit, referral and cookie information for security, operation and analytics.
2. How we use information
We use information to respond to enquiries; assess service fit; schedule consultations; prepare and deliver agreed services; communicate about appointments, documents and service updates; process payments; maintain records; improve our website and services; prevent misuse; meet legal, regulatory and accounting obligations; and protect our rights and those of our clients.
Providing a telephone number does not by itself provide consent to receive marketing or customer-care text messages.
3. Consent and lawful handling
We collect, use and disclose personal information with consent or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law. You may withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawal may affect our ability to provide a requested service.
4. Providers, institutions and professional referrals
We may use service providers for website hosting, forms, customer relationship management, communications, scheduling, payment processing, analytics, records and other operational functions. They may process information only as needed to support those functions and under their applicable safeguards.
When you ask us to coordinate an education, employment, business or professional referral, we will obtain appropriate authorization before sharing information with an institution, employer, government office, lawyer, accountant, immigration professional, financial professional or other third party, unless disclosure is otherwise authorized or required by law.
We do not sell personal information.
5. SMS/MMS privacy
If you separately opt in, we may send customer-care SMS/MMS messages about enquiries, appointments and service updates. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency may vary. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We may retain consent and opt-out records as required for compliance.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your Personal Data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
6. Cookies and connected tools
We use necessary technologies to operate and secure the website. Use Manage Cookies to choose optional categories or change your choice later. Google Analytics loads only after you accept Analytical cookies. This integration measures public page visits using the page path and referring website origin; it does not send form contents, names, email addresses, phone numbers, OANs, URL query strings or fragments. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. Google Analytics cookies are configured for 180 days. Withdrawing consent stops future measurement by this integration; it does not erase previously collected data.
Zoho Sites provides website hosting, consent controls and traffic reports. Connected forms, maps and other business tools may process information under their own policies. You can also control cookies through your browser, although disabling necessary cookies may affect functionality. See Google’s privacy policy for its processing practices.
7. Security, storage and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information. No transmission or storage system is completely secure. We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described, to meet legal, tax, accounting and professional obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements; then we securely delete or anonymize it where practical.
8. Processing outside your location
Our providers may process or store information outside Ontario or Canada. Information in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction’s laws and lawful access requirements.
9. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, ask questions about our practices, withdraw consent, or request deletion where no legal or operational reason requires retention. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications using the provided method and from SMS/MMS by replying STOP.
10. Children
Our services are not directed to children who cannot legally provide consent. Where a minor’s information is required for an education-related service, we may require involvement and consent from a parent or legal guardian as appropriate.
11. External links and third parties
Our website may link to institutions, employers, government services or professional providers. Their privacy practices are separate from ours, and you should review their policies before providing information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services, tools or legal requirements change. The updated date above identifies the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through appropriate channels.

Questions, requests or complaints may be directed to the Privacy Officer at privacy@thenorthconsultancy.com, or by mail to The North Consultancy, 1110 Finch Avenue West, Unit 306, North York, Ontario M3J 3M2, Canada.
