These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of The North Consultancy website and communications. Specific paid services may also be governed by a proposal, engagement letter, invoice or other written agreement. If there is a conflict, the signed or expressly accepted service agreement controls for that service.
1. Website information and enquiries
Website content is general information, not legal, immigration, accounting, tax, investment, financial or other regulated professional advice. Sending an enquiry, booking a consultation or receiving an initial response does not create a paid engagement, professional relationship or obligation to accept work. A service begins only after scope, price and applicable terms are confirmed.
2. Our services
Career services may include education guidance, institutional and program research, admissions coordination, career planning, résumé and cover-letter support, job-search preparation, interview preparation and professional development. Commerce services may include business development, registration and licensing coordination, planning, market research, branding and marketing support, professional referrals, advisory and growth planning. The precise deliverables, schedule and fees will be stated before paid work begins.
3. Important limits
- Educational institutions make all admission, credit-transfer, scholarship and enrolment decisions. We do not guarantee admission, funding, a visa or study-permit result.
- We do not access, manage or submit applications through a client’s financial-aid account and do not request financial-aid passwords or credentials.
- We do not provide immigration or citizenship advice unless it is delivered by an appropriately licensed provider under a separate arrangement.
- Employers make all hiring decisions. We do not guarantee interviews, employment, salary or career outcomes.
- Government authorities and registries make licensing, registration, permit, grant and benefit decisions. We do not guarantee approvals or funding.
- Legal, accounting, tax, investment and other regulated matters are referred to appropriately qualified professionals where needed. A referral does not make their advice or work our own.
- Business plans, research, strategy, branding and marketing involve uncertainty. We do not guarantee revenue, profit, financing, market response or business success.
4. Client responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate, complete and timely information; review deliverables and applications before submission; meet external deadlines; obtain independent regulated advice where appropriate; keep credentials secure; and promptly tell us about changes that could affect the work. You remain responsible for decisions, submissions and the lawful operation of your education, employment or business activities.
5. Fees, scheduling, cancellation and refunds
Fees, taxes, deposits, payment dates, third-party charges, rescheduling, cancellation and refund eligibility will be communicated before a paid service begins. Unless otherwise agreed, third-party fees are separate and paid directly by the client. Work already performed, consultations already delivered and non-recoverable third-party costs may be non-refundable. Any service-specific written terms control.
6. Third-party services and referrals
We may identify or refer institutions, employers, government resources, platforms or independent professionals. Unless expressly stated, they are independent third parties. Their availability, eligibility rules, fees, decisions, performance, security and terms are outside our control. You are responsible for evaluating and contracting with them.
7. SMS/MMS terms
If you separately opt in, The North Consultancy may send customer-care SMS/MMS messages about enquiries, appointments and service updates. Message frequency may vary. Standard message and data rates may apply. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchasing any service. Reply STOP to unsubscribe and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Keep your contact information current and do not send passwords, government identification, banking credentials or other sensitive records by text. See our Privacy Policy for mobile-data practices.
8. Intellectual property
The website design, brand elements and original content are owned by or licensed to The North Consultancy and may not be copied, republished or commercially exploited without permission. Ownership and permitted use of client-specific deliverables will be stated in the applicable service agreement. Third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ rights and licences.
9. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the website or our communications; attempt unauthorized access; introduce malicious code; impersonate another person; infringe rights; submit unlawful, misleading or harmful material; or use our content or services for fraud or unlawful activity.
10. Disclaimers and limitation
To the extent permitted by law, the website is provided on an “as available” basis. We make no warranty that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every purpose. The North Consultancy is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from website use, reliance on general information or third-party decisions. Nothing in these Terms excludes a right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims or losses arising from your unlawful use of the website, your material breach of these Terms, or information and instructions you supply that infringe another person’s rights.
12. Changes and availability
We may update website content, services and these Terms. The updated date above identifies the current version. We may suspend or discontinue website features when reasonably necessary.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Subject to any mandatory consumer rights, disputes will be brought before the courts located in Ontario.
